Oliver Vormawor demands arrest of Akufo-Addo & family over alleged corruption

Youth activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has called on the John Dramani Mahama administration to urgently arrest former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his family, accusing them of corruption during their eight years in power.

In a fiery social media post, Barker-Vormawor argued that the Akufo-Addo administration’s mismanagement of state resources had left Ghana in financial ruin, while the former president and his relatives continued to live in luxury.

He specifically criticized the misuse of funds, pointing to the $58 million spent on a pit and the $87.5 million earned from COVID testing at the airport, instead of directing those funds to the Ghana Health Service.

Barker-Vormawor emphasized the dire need for money to support the Ghana Medical Trust Fund and questioned why the Akufo-Addo family was allowed to remain untouched, while the country struggles with inadequate healthcare.

He called for the immediate seizure of the assets of those involved and their arrest, suggesting that they should be imprisoned for a generation or two. In his post, he also jokingly threatened to take matters into his own hands if action wasn’t taken.
