Ofosu Nkansah responds to critics of Bawumia’s Presidential candidacy

Former NEIP boss Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has dismissed claims that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia cannot become Ghana’s next leader. He says such opinions are short-sighted and similar to what people said about Nana Akufo-Addo before he became president.

In a post on social media, Mr. Nkansah said some members of their party once doubted Nana Akufo-Addo, yet later worked with him and enjoyed the results of his leadership. Now, he believes those same voices are repeating history with Dr. Bawumia, who is a former vice president.

He added that the criticism Bawumia faces today is not as harsh as what Akufo-Addo went through in the past.

“What some of these internal voices did to Akufo-Addo was worse. Dr. Bawumia has been lucky. We shall be here to remind them when he ascends the seat,” Nkansah said.

Still, with some in his own party unsure about his chances, the question remains. Will Bawumia rise above the doubt and lead Ghana one day?
