Ofori-Atta will not be in Ghana tomorrow; seeks virtual session with OSP

A Member of the opposition New Patriotic Party Communication Team, Kwesi Botchway Jnr has said the former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Attah “will not be physically present in Ghana on June 2nd to appear before the Office of Special Prosecutor as originally agreed”.

In a Facebook post, the Lawyer said the former Finance Minister has some other unexpected negative change in health circumstances but “has availed himself for the OSP interview to be carried out electronically, as permitted by the Electronic Transactions Act for the purposes of eliciting a Cautioned Statement while he continues with his medicals”.

    – A Ministry of Health contract with Service Ghana Auto Group Limited for the purchase and maintenance of 307 ambulances.

    – Handling and disbursement of funds from the Tax P-Fund Account of the GRA.

Mr. Ofori-Atta will not be physically present in Ghana on June 2nd to appear before the Office of Special Prosecutor as originally agreed. This is because of an unexpected negative change in Mr. Ofori-Atta’s health circumstances.

Mr Ofori-Atta has availed himself for the OSP interview to be carried out electronically, as permitted by the Electronic Transactions Act for the purposes of eliciting a Cautioned Statement while he continues with his medicals.

The Human Rights Court has adjourned to 18 June 2025 for a ruling on a motion filed by former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta, seeking to restrain the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) from declaring him wanted, among other reliefs.
