National Service Authority (NSA)

The National Service Authority (NSA) has released PIN codes for 132,393 final-year students from 100 accredited tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 service year. However, the Authority has withheld PINs for 3,597 graduates from 22 institutions that lack proper accreditation.

This announcement, made on June 17, marks the official start of this year’s national service mobilisation process. The NSA attributed the improvement in data quality to strict validation measures and increased transparency.

According to the Authority, the number of submissions dropped by an average of 26% compared to the past three years, with the largest decline, 36%, recorded since the 2022/2023 service year. This drop is linked to the elimination of inflated and ineligible entries.

In total, 135,990 names were submitted from 122 institutions across the country. But 3,597 entries were excluded because they came from schools that, according to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), are not accredited. As a result, graduates from these institutions will not be mobilized unless the NSA receives verifiable evidence of their accreditation being regularised.

The NSA has asked these unaccredited institutions to work with GTEC and regularise their status within 30 days. Institutions that fail to meet this requirement will not have their graduates included in the national service deployment.

Meanwhile, 908 PIN codes for private applicants, including Ghanaians who studied abroad and individuals resuming deferred service, are undergoing final verification. These PINs will be issued once the NSA receives confirmation from the respective institutions. Applicants who do not see their PINs by June 24 are advised to contact NSA support channels.

The NSA reiterated that only graduates from fully accredited institutions will be eligible for national service and emphasized its commitment to a transparent, fair, and efficient deployment process.
