Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on Ghanaians not to panic over the ongoing erratic power supply, known as ‘Dumsor’. He said the power crisis will soon be a thing of the past.
Speaking to the Clergy and Imams in Akropong on Monday, April 29, during his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, the NPP 2024 flagbearer was full of praise for his government. He expressed confidence in the government’s ability to stand up to challenges while making the lives of Ghanaians easy.
“I know there are challenges and I don’t want to paper over economic challenges. We are going to work on them. Currently, we have issues with power but I say that from the information I have received from the Minister for Energy, those power challenges will very soon, and I mean very soon be a thing of the past,” Dr. Bawumia said.
Government machinery and President Nana Akufo-Addo have come under severe criticism from Ghanaians for the recent power crisis. The public has regularly called for a load-shedding timetable. However, the government has refused the request while maintaining that the current challenge does not require a load-shedding timetable.
