The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo Markin, says President Mahama should take actions to solve the pressing needs of the youth and do away with promises.

According to the outspoken lawmaker, the rate of youth unemployment should be a major concern while addressing the worries of Ghanaians complaining bitterly about the increase in electricity tariffs, .

He said over 1,000 youth have been left with no job after they were handed dismissal letters by the Chief of Staff.

Hon. Afenyo-Markin noted that there is a scandal looming in the security services recruitment by TribeNet, a company in charge of the entire recruitment process, which was introduced to the ministry by a senior government appointee.

He added that the minority will pursue and make sure there is full disclosure, afterwards, the appointee will land in jail.

Hon. Afenyo Markin, who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu, heavily bashed President Mahama for ignoring the grievances of cocoa farmers, adding that the NDC have reduced the production prices of cocoa for their gains.

He stressed that Ghanaians continue to suffer under galamsey hardship, and we expect concrete actions to be taken on that.

He mentioned that gains made from gold for the reserve policy are an initiative birthed by former Vice-President Bawumia, and he should be given credit for that.

Hon. Afenyo Markin argued that the minority are ready to debate on this SONA, adding that they will present the house with the true SONA on Monday.
