The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has honoured the memory of its former Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Mr. Nicholas Aklorbortu, at a solemn ceremony held in Sogakope in the Volta Region.
The event brought together a delegation from the NHIA Head Office, the Volta Regional Office, and various District Schemes, who joined family members, friends, and sympathisers to pay their last respects and commiserate with the bereaved family.
The delegation was led by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations, Dr. Kwesi Senanu Djokoto, who delivered remarks on behalf of the Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandor, the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, as well as Management and staff of the Authority.
In his tribute, Dr. Djokoto described the late Mr. Aklorbortu as a dedicated, professional, and loyal officer whose immense contributions to the National Health Insurance Scheme would remain unforgettable.
He noted that the late officer served the Authority with diligence and integrity, playing a key role in monitoring and evaluation efforts that supported the effective implementation of the Scheme.
Dr. Djokoto further assured the bereaved family of the NHIA’s continued support, particularly for the four children of the deceased, stressing that the Authority would stand by them during this difficult period.
As a show of solidarity, donations in cash were presented on behalf of the Minister for Health, the NHIA Chief Executive Officer, the Deputy CEO (Operations), the Volta Regional Office, and all District Schemes in the region.
The delegation, on behalf of Management and staff of the Authority, expressed its deepest condolences to the family and the entire National Health Insurance fraternity, praying for the peaceful repose of Mr. Nicholas Aklorbortu’s soul.
