New Oforikrom Police Station built by Mahama left to rot

A completed building meant to be used as Police Station at Oforikrom, a suburb of Techiman in the newly created Bono East Region has been left to rot away.

The structure which was built in 2016 under ex-president, John Dramni Mahama administration has not been put to use since its completion.

A concerned resident of Oforikrom, who shared pictures of the building on social media bemoaned why such a “beautiful” structure is not serving its purpose as it is yet to be inaugurated by the current government despite the surge in crime in the area.

According to him, the Police Station has been strategically built at a location well known as robbery prone zone but has become the abode for rodents and reptiles.

He tells AwakeNewsOnline.com that he is convinced it is a deliberate decision by the Akufo-Addo government to abandon completed and uncompleted projects of the previous Mahama government.

“Government is afraid to use completed projects under National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. This is not the only project abandoned by the Akufo-Addo administration, many of such projects are all over the country which government has refused to touch,” he maintained.
