The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially released the guidelines and timetable for the Ayawaso East Constituency Parliamentary Primaries ahead of the 2026 internal elections.
In a press release dated January 20, 2026, and signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party outlined key procedures, timelines, and requirements for prospective aspirants contesting the Ayawaso East parliamentary slot in the Greater Accra Region.

According to the timetable, nominations will open on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 7:00am to 5:00pm at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the party. Submission and filing of nomination forms will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, within the same hours and at the same venue.
Vetting, balloting, and appeals are scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, after which the parliamentary primaries will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:00am to 4:00pm at designated venues within the Ayawaso East Constituency.
The party further announced that nomination forms will cost GH₵5,000, while the filing fee has been set at GH₵40,000. However, female aspirants and persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) will enjoy a 50 percent reduction in the approved filing fee.
The NDC clarified that all payments must be made directly into the party’s official bank account, as cheques and bankers’ drafts will not be accepted. The official delegates’ list will be made available to aspirants upon verification of payment of the approved filing fee.
The party has urged all aspirants and stakeholders to strictly adhere to the laid-down guidelines and timelines, and to conduct their campaigns with decency, unity, and in the true spirit of fairness and internal democracy.
