Former fetish priestess turned evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Accra Circuit Court for fraud and charlatanic advertisement.
The conviction stems from a 2022 televised broadcast, where Agradaa falsely claimed she had spiritual powers to double money, deceiving dozens into surrendering large sums with the hope of miraculous returns. None of the promised riches materialized.
Before sentencing, a mandatory pregnancy test confirmed she was not pregnant, allowing the court to proceed with the full term of punishment.
The ruling has sparked widespread public approval, hailed as a landmark decision against fraudulent spiritual schemes and deceptive religious practices.
