Mr. James Gunu, a former District Chief Executive and an aspiring Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, has said his greatest motivation to contest as the Regional Secretary comes from the grassroot.
Mr. James Gunu, who filed his nomination on Monday 23rd July, to contest for the Regional Secretary position in the upcoming regional delegates conference of the NDC, believes he has the greatest chances of winning the election come September.
According to him, he is ready to serve the party in all regards, saying he [ads1]would bring innovative administrative ideas and would always be there for the grassroot in other to keep the party attractive to them (grassroot).
Speaking to Awake News‘ Abdul-Iddrisu Faisel on his vision for the party at the regional level, Mr. Gunu who is also a party communicator, said the party must adopt a communication strategy at all levels in order to get the party’s messages to the grassroot and to ensure an effective communication towards victory in 2020.
He added that, he will advocate for a research unit to be established within all levels of the party’s structures so as to keep the party abreast with innovative ideas in line with problems of the members of the NDC.
In his opinion, this initiative would relegate such committees like the Prof. Kwesi Botwey’s Committee, that sort to do a retrospective finding of the leading factors of the party’s defeat in the 2016 general elections.
