The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has predicted a likely 75 percent vote win for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Baba Jamal, in the Ayawaso East by-election, which is slated for Tuesday, March 3.
According to Mussa Dankwah, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia will perform better than what the former MP secured in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
The late Hon. Naser Toure gathered nearly 71% of the votes, and NPP’s Zak Rahman had 29%.
He stressed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is likely to underperform in the by-election, as its candidate, Baba Ali, is predicted to secure only 21%, representing a drop of nearly 8% compared to the 2024 elections.
Umaru Sanda Muhammed, an independent candidate who defected from the ruling NDC, is poised to gain a meager 3% of the votes, while other candidates, Ibrahim Iddrisu and David Kanor, are expected to receive 0.4% and 0.2%, respectively.
Mussa Dankwah confirmed that the poll was conducted between 28th February and March 1, 2026, with a sample of 972 voters, with a 95% confidence level and a plus or minus 3.05% margin of error.
Baba Jamal, the former Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, defeated Hajia Amina Adams, wife of the late Naser Toure, in the Ayawaso East NDC primaries in early February.
