Assistant Coach of Heart of Lions, Daniel Nii Adjei, says his side conceding two goals against True Life Football Academy was due to complacency and not fatigue, as described by many.

Lions managed to book a place in the last eight (quarter-finals) of the MTN FA Cup with a hard-fought victory over Division II side True Life at the Nii Adjei Kraku Sports Complex on Sunday.
Michael Ephson scored twice with another goal from Ebenezer Abban in both halves, while True Life found the back of the net through Issaka and Wisdom.
Speaking after the game, Nii Adjei criticized his team’s complacency, citing the confidence of the team and undermining the prowess of his opponents.
According to him, the team has a unique training routine and believes fatigue did not play a role in the two goals they allowed in.
“Nope, we have a way of training these boys. We know when to load and when not to load. It’s not fatigue because they were confident they would score against True Life. And when you are playing against these lower division clubs, sometimes players feel they are above them, and that can also be a contributing factor. Because if I know I’m bigger than you before I realize that you have overcome me, that is also another reason. Complacency can also set in because, from the look of our last goal conceded, right from midfield to defense, there was a bit of complacency. We’re not tired; they are the same players playing day in and day out, and we have our load shedding where we rest them, so it’s not fatigue”, he explained.
“I must say True Life also did well by scoring two goals,” Nii Adjei added.
The win makes it two in a row, having defeated Asante Kotoko 3-1 last weekend in the Ghana Premier League.
Lions will play as visitors to Berekum Chelsea this weekend in their Match Day 22 of the Ghana Premier League.
