The Member of Parliament for Central Tongu Constituency, Alexander Hottordze, has donated 50 bags of cement to the people of Mafi Havenu to support the completion of an ongoing four-seater toilet facility in the community.
The donation forms part of efforts by the MP to support improved sanitation and community development in the constituency.
Presenting the items, Mr. Hottordze said access to decent sanitation facilities remained a key priority for government and local leadership, stressing the need to support communities undertaking self-help projects aimed at improving public health.
He noted that the provision of the cement was intended to assist the community to expedite work on the toilet facility to serve residents and promote proper sanitation practices.
Mr. Hottordze reiterated his commitment to working closely with communities across the constituency to address pressing developmental challenges, particularly in areas such as sanitation, infrastructure and social services.
Leaders of the Mafi Havenu community expressed gratitude to the MP for the support and assured him that the cement would be used for the intended purpose to ensure the timely completion of the project.
They also appealed for continuous assistance from the MP and other stakeholders to support development initiatives within the community.
