A mobile money vendor in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has allegedly absconded with GH¢60,000 belonging to his employer.

According to a post shared by Crime Check TV Ghana on social media, the young man, whose identity has not been officially confirmed, reportedly took the money and went into hiding.

The post indicated that the suspect, who was employed as a mobile money (MoMo) vendor in the city, allegedly bolted with the cash entrusted to him in the course of his work.

Sources close to the matter said efforts were underway to trace the suspect after he reportedly disappeared following the alleged theft.

The post appealed to members of the public to assist with information that could help locate the suspect.

Mobile money businesses have become a major part of Ghana’s financial transactions, but operators occasionally face risks including theft and robbery.
