A married man, Kofi Seidu, has narrated a troubling account of a marital dispute involving his estranged wife, Akua Abrefi, and her alleged partner, identified only as Bismark, a small-scale miner.
Speaking on Oyerepa Afutuo, a programme dedicated to addressing domestic and relationship issues, Kofi detailed a series of events stemming from long-standing tensions in his marriage, largely linked to allegations of infidelity.
According to him, his wife became involved in a relationship with the said individual, prompting intervention from both families in an attempt to resolve the matter. He indicated that the man later admitted to the affair and, following deliberations at the family level, offered a sum of GH¢20,000 as compensation as part of a customary settlement.
Kofi further disclosed that although his wife has expressed her intention to end the marriage, no formal divorce or legal dissolution has been effected.
He added that during a recent visit by his estranged wife and their three children, the two engaged in an intimate encounter. However, he claims that shortly after the incident, his wife and her alleged partner demanded GH¢60,000 from him—an action he says has left him confused and emotionally distressed.
The case has since sparked public discussion on the complexities surrounding marital disputes, customary arbitration practices, and the legal implications of financial demands tied to personal relationships.
The matter remains unresolved.
