Maintain Awuku Amoah as MCE to continue developmental projects – Nerebehi Chief to Akufo-Addo

Oheneba Nana Bona Manu lll, Chief of Nerebehi in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti region has appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a matter of national interest maintained the Municipal Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality, Michael Awuku Amoah, to continue to champion his policies that has brought massive development, peace and unity in the area.

He adduced this when the Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Emmanuel Adjei Anhwere, visited the Nerebehi town to assess ongoing projects on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

Speaking with Boss Fm Kwame Nyame on his remark, Nana Bona Manu lll opined that, the MCE’s humility, persistent hardworking spirit, advice and assisting the youth has been recognized by all hence the need for him to be retained and elevate the constituency up.

It follow days after the Atwima youth for development kicked against reticent moves by some Constituency, Regional and National Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP ) to retain the Municipal Chief Executive.

According to them, the MCE’s appalling performance in the last four years is the reason the Atwima Nwabiagya South area in particular, is lagging behind in development, asserting that there is the need for him to pave way for a more competent person to continue from where he left off.

“We are basing our claims of his incompetence on the following; it is only under his watch that the receipt for payment of permit is issued by a written statement. It is never done in any office or institution of the government office”.

Meanwhile, reacting to this, Emmanuel Adjei Anhwere, MP for the constituency said, “The power is not in my hands but rather His Excellency, Nana Akufo-Addo, his ears are on the ground, I know he is intelligent and aware of everything, thus, when the time comes he will retain the MCE to carry on with his work”.

“I want to state without equivocation that, the so-called Atwima youth for developments has done nothing for the municipality, they only come out during election to rattle so any statement emanating from them against the competent MCE Awuku Amoah should be disregarded”, he added.
