A new national tracking poll by Global InfoAnalytics shows that President John Dramani Mahama has earned overwhelming public approval for his economic leadership.
According to the July 2025 survey, 74% of Ghanaians approve of the president’s economic management, while just 18% disapprove.
The poll also highlighted strong support for other aspects of Mahama’s agenda:
- 67% approve of job creation efforts, while 22% disapprove.
- 65% are satisfied with the fight against illegal mining, with 24% expressing dissatisfaction.
When asked who is primarily responsible for Ghana’s current economic conditions, 62% credited the Mahama administration, compared to 23% who blamed the previous Akufo-Addo government. The remaining 15% were undecided.
Performance Ratings
Respondents were asked to rate Mahama’s performance in specific areas on a scale of 1 to 10. His scores included:
- 7.0 – Stabilizing the cedi
- 6.6 – Managing the economy & ORAL task force
- 6.5 – Controlling price hikes
- 6.0 – Stabilizing utility prices & tackling illegal mining
- 5.8 – Addressing power outages (Dumsor)
- 5.6 – Job creation
Public Opinion on Dumsor Levy
Despite its suspension, the Dumsor Levy received support from a majority of 55%, with 22% opposed and 23% neutral.
Outlook on Living Standards
On personal well-being, 59% of respondents said their standard of living had improved compared to the same time last year. Another 12% said conditions had worsened, 25% saw no change, and 11% had no opinion.
The findings mark a notable shift in national sentiment just six months into Mahama’s presidency, signaling strong voter support for his reforms and rising expectations for continued progress.
