Mahama vows to complete Krofrom Market by 2026

President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to complete the long-abandoned Krofrom Market in Kumasi by the end of 2026.

Speaking during his Thank-You Tour in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, Mahama said the market, started in 2007 but left unfinished for over a decade, would finally be completed under his leadership.

The incomplete structure has become a haven for criminals and reptiles, raising safety concerns among residents and traders.

“I have asked the Mayor to write to the Vice President and add Krofrom to our Market Enhancement Programme. I believe that by the end of 2026, the market will be completed,” Mahama assured.

He emphasized that market infrastructure would be a key priority in the NDC’s Market Enhancement Programme, which targets the redevelopment of 18 major markets across Ghana.

Market Queen Adwenehemaa Nana Sakina welcomed the commitment, saying Mahama is the only leader with the political will to revive such abandoned projects.

She pledged the full support of market women for the Mahama led administration.
