Mahama is out of touch with the realities facing Ghanaians – Richard Ahiagbah

The communications Director of the ruling New Partrotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has described NDC’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama as someone who has lost touch with the realities facing Ghanaians.

According to him “John Mahama appears to be out of touch with the realities facing Ghanaians. It seems he either has a short memory or has entirely forgotten that many of the key initiatives he is proposing are already being implemented by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, which he claims has done nothing”.

He suggested that Mahama’s latest proposals in the run up to the 2024 general elections “seem to be a mere repetition of the essential parts of the NPP Manifesto, embellished with different wording to appear original but lacking any fresh ideas. Ghanaians witnessed Mahama’s presidency from 7th  January 2013 to 7th January 2017, and the collective judgment was a decisive rejection”.

Richard remarked that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer manifesto promises “this time seems to be a rebranded attempt to deceive Ghanaians, much like a so-called miracle herbal remedy being marketed as a cure-all for every challenge facing the country”.

In assessing Mahama’s promises he posed five question, by stating that “this raises several critical questions:

  1. Where does John Mahama plan to find the funding for all the free initiatives he promises, especially when he claims the economy is bankrupt?
  2. Is Mahama aware that Starlink will be operational in Ghana by the end of August 2024?
  3. Does he know that automobile assembly is already underway in Ghana?
  4. Is he aware that the current government has been heavily investing in free Technical and Vocational Education and Training since 2022?
  5. When did Mahama suddenly realize that traditional grammar schools are outdated?

“This first-half presentation by Mahama raises more questions than answers. The whole “Reset” campaign appears to be nothing more than an effort to mislead Ghanaians into thinking the NDC is offering a new version. Ghana will not return to the tried and failed leadership of John Mahama. We will not buy the Reset to go back. We are moving forward to a future of possibilities…” he concluded on his Facebook wall.
