Mahama commits to completing Kumasi Military Hospital

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his unwavering commitment to augmenting healthcare delivery for military personnel and their families.

During a momentous address at the Ghana Military Academy’s graduation ceremony, Mahama pledged to expedite the completion and furnishing of the Kumasi Military Hospital at Afari in the Central Command. This visionary initiative is an integral component of a broader endeavor to modernize the Ghana Armed Forces and prioritize the welfare of its esteemed personnel.

“We possess a viable and comprehensive vision to upgrade your medical health facilities. Consequently, we will complete and equip the Kumasi Military Hospital at Afari in the Central Command. Additionally, we have allocated funds for a military field hospital in Tamale. Our paramount objective is to ensure that you and your families have unhindered access to superior quality healthcare,” Mahama declared.

President Mahama’s assurance extends far beyond the realm of healthcare, encompassing a multifaceted plan to fortify support systems for both active personnel and veterans. This includes enhanced working conditions, equitable compensation, and prompt retirement benefits.

“Dear military personnel and civilian staff, I am resolute in my determination to systematically improve your conditions of service. GEHOC will serve as a pivotal instrument in providing sustainable financing for the Ghana Armed Forces. Your selfless sacrifices merit recognition. For our retired personnel who have made immense sacrifices for our nation, we will ensure that your retirement benefits are disbursed promptly,” he added.

Mahama’s remarks were met with thunderous applause from the distinguished audience, comprising high-ranking military officials, government representatives, and families of the graduating cadets. This development underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to recognizing and rewarding the meritorious service of military personnel.
