Mahama begins Volta tour today

Former President John Dramani Mahama is expected to begin a tour of the Volta Region today, Monday, January 28th, in his attempt to canvas for support and votes ahead of the party’s presidential primaries slated for February 23rd, 2019.

The former president has been on tour of all ten regions of the country, campaigning to lead the NDC again in the 2020 elections.

Mr. James Gunu, the Volta regional secretary of the NDC in an interview with journalists in Ho, confirmed the expected arrival of the former president.

He added that, since the former President began his campaign tour, a number of party faithfuls, delegates, Muslim and traditional leaders, the clergy, media practitioners and other folks have called the Regional Secretariat expressing their eagerness to meet him-JM.

In his view, the region and it’s people can’t wait to meet the former President on a tour that will last between Monday 23rd to Saturday, 2nd February, 2019.

The former President is expected to meet all stakeholders, including Chiefs, the Muslim community, party executives; constituency and branch across the Volta region.
