Prime Minister Modi, accepting the honour, described it as both a personal privilege and a call to deepen bilateral cooperation. “This recognition comes with responsibility,” he said, pledging to enhance India’s contributions to Ghana’s progress.

The visit featured high-level talks and a joint press conference at Jubilee House. President Mahama emphasized the urgency of collaboration in priority sectors, including agriculture, renewable energy, digital innovation, youth empowerment, and healthcare.

“We’re aligned in our strategic interests. It’s time to expand our cooperation in impactful sectors,” Mahama noted.

India’s contributions to Ghana’s development include several landmark projects: the Kofi Annan ICT Centre, the Elmina Fish Processing Plant, the Komenda Sugar Factory, and the Tema-Mpakadan railway line.

Modi’s visit is seen as a milestone in Ghana–India relations, laying the groundwork for deeper government and private sector engagement.
