Lionel Messi Wins Best FIFA Men’s Player Award for 2023

Lionel Messi was crowned the Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2023 last night at London Apollo where the FIFA Best Awards 2023 was held.

The Argentina maestro and Erling Haaland were tied for The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2023 award, however, Messi was announced as the overall winner after receiving more votes in the first place from national team captains. The award is voted for by players, coaches, and sports journalists across the globe.

Messi, as well as the other two finalists Haaland and Mbappé, were not present at the ceremony in London. There was a gasp of surprise when Lionel Messi was named as the Fifa Player of the Year 2023.

The 2022 World Cup winner in 2023 helped his side Inter Miami to win the North American football trophy as Inter Miami beat Nashville on penalties (10-9) in August 2023.

The Argentine and Inter Miami forward will be back on the field on 19th January 2024 as they take on El Salvador national team in a preseason friendly.
