Chiefs and Citizens of the six towns in the Leklebi Traditional Area in the Afadzato South District in the Volta Region of Ghana are lacing their boots for this year’s Agbonuto Zã (Festival) slated for October 4-12, 2025.
The seven-day-long event seeks to bring together the citizens at home and abroad to display the rich culture of Leklebi while opening the community for investment and development.
Under the theme “MOBILISING FOR DEVELOPMENT IN UNITY: THE LEKLEBI WAY”, the Festival will be climaxed with a Durbar on Saturday, 11th October, where some prominent Ghanaians and the government officials are expected to attend.
Speaking to Awake News, the Chairman of Leklebi Connect Ghana said, “The Agbonutoza and Homecoming is a festival of the Chiefs and people of Leklebi, which will see citizens of Leklebi gathering from all over the world to assemble at home for the week-long celebrations.”
“The festival has the following as its theme and Objectives:
1. Sensitizing and mobilizing Leklebi Citizens towards unity and development,
2. Creating an opportunity for social interactions and family reunions,
3. Educating our citizens about the Culture and History of Leklebi,
4. Coordinating the ideas and expertise of our citizens towards building a development agenda, as
well as exploring investment opportunities for job creation,
5. Initiating discussions towards building a vibrant human Resource base through prudent
educational reforms, carrier counselling and support, and
6. Fundraising to mobilize five hundred thousand Cedis (Ghc 500,000) for our Clinic upgrade

According to Togbe Atatsi VI of the Leklebi Tradiational Counil, “Some of the activities marking the week-long celebration include Tourism and Heritage fair, Street jam, History telling, Ancestral and Cultural fair, Fun Games, a Float, Paying of Homage to all our Chiefs and Queen Mothers, and Business & Investment Forum”
The event will also present an oppornity for committed citizens to he honoured with various awards.
