Former Minister of Energy and prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has stated that work for 2026 has officially begun, expressing firm belief that the year can and must be a successful one if leaders and citizens alike commit fully to the task.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Dr. Opoku Prempeh stressed that positive outcomes do not occur by chance but are achieved through collective resolve, hard work, and deliberate action.

He emphasized that leadership comes with responsibility, noting that those entrusted with positions of authority must raise their standards, act with purpose, and serve the people of Ghana with renewed urgency and sincerity.

Turning to internal party affairs of his party, Dr. Opoku Prempeh wished the opposition New Patriotic Party well as it prepares to elect its flagbearer on January 31, describing the exercise as a defining moment for the party.

He reiterated his conviction that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is best positioned to lead the NPP forward at this critical stage, citing the need for purposeful and service-driven leadership to steer the party and the nation into the future.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh concluded by calling for unity within the party and renewed commitment to leadership in service, as Ghana looks ahead with hope and determination.
