Former Heart of Lions & Black Galaxies goalie, Lawrence Osei, has stated emphatically his reason of relocating to the United States of America, firmly debunking claims that he traveled to take up menial jobs.
The 30-year-old safest pair broke his silence following intense speculation about his sudden departure without any form of notice.
Videos and photos shared on his TikTok page sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users speculating that Lawrence Osei had travelled abroad to work as a cleaner or caregiver.
However, speaking to Kumasi-based Angel FM, Osei dismissed the claims and expressed disappointment over what he described as misleading reports by some media outlets.
“I haven’t even started working yet, but I’m not here to bathe old ladies, clean horses, or sweep the streets. I’ve had my visa since October 2025, yet I still stayed to serve my club and even represented Ghana with the Black Galaxies in South Africa”, he confirmed.
He noted that his family is deeply affected by the circulating rumors.
“The things being said made my family angry and embarrassed,” he added.
Osei made 17 appearances for Heart of Lions before leaving Ghana.
