The Eastern Regional Director of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), Mr. Kwasi Tsibu Yirenkyi, has blamed yesterday’s accident involving the Kumasi Asante Kotoko football team to a breach of traffic regulations.

According to him, it was clear that the driver of the Kotoko bus lost control because he was speeding beyond limit when he approached a Kia Rhino which was loaded with bags of fertiliser.

This comes on the heels of last night when one person lost his life while a dozen others of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko football team sustained various degrees of injuries when their bus ran into a moving Kia Rhino truck at Nkawkaw, near Abepotia.

The victims have since been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Meanwhile, the conductor of the Kia truck who sustain injuries has been treated and discharged.
