Kofi Annan should not be buried in Switzerland – Allotey Jacobs

Allotey JacobsThe National Democratic Congress (NDC) Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allottey Jacobs has appealed to the family of the late UN General Secretary not to bury him in Switzerland.

He said such a revered diplomat should be buried in the land of his fathers.

The 7th UN General Secretary Kofi Annan passed away last Saturday after a short illness in Berne, Switzerland.

Ahead of his funeral, there are speculations that some family members prefer he is buried in Switzerland where he spent most of his life.

The 80-year-old Ghanaian diplomat served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006.
