The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, says every penny donated into the coffers of the Ghana Sports Fund will be strictly used for its purpose.

He made these remarks when the National Investment Bank (NIB) became the first institution to donate GHS 100,000 on Friday.
According to him, funding has always been one of the biggest constraints in Ghanaian sports, and this being the first makes an important step for Ghanaian sports.
He mentioned that it shows confidence in Ghana’s visit to reset sports and properly resource sports development.
“I am deeply grateful to the management of NIB for this show of confidence in our vision to reset and properly resource sports development in our country,” he said.
He stressed that “This contribution is not just financial support; it is a statement of belief that structured, transparent investment can change the story of our athletes and our institutions.”
“I want to assure the good people of Ghana that every cedis received into the Ghana Sports Fund will be used strictly for the purpose for which the fund was established: to strengthen systems, support talent, and build sustainable sports development,” he added.
The fund is aimed at supporting the construction and maintenance of sports infrastructure, athlete development, and welfare.
Also, to promote grassroots and youth sports programs, including Ghana’s participation in regional and international sporting competitions.
