The Kantamanto market in Accra has been gutted by fire in the late hours of Tuesday December 15.

Information reaching Awake News indicates that out of 3 fire services cars that arrived at the scene , only one had water which wasn’t enough to douse it hence extensive spread of the fire. Many shops has been burnt.
Kantamanto market is a market area situated in the central business district of Accra, in Ghana. It is a well known market in Accra where any kind of cloth needed can be found.
The cause of the inferno is not yet known.
A couple of days ago, the Ghana Commercial Bank branch close to the market caught fire but couldn’t diffuse due to the timely intervention of the fire service men.
