Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of welcoming Hon Manfred Tawiah, the District Chief Executive of Afadjato South District, to my electoral area as part of his community engagement initiative.

He was accompanied Hon Courage Kokoroko, the DCE of South Dayi District, who previously resided in Leklebi Agbesia. In a separate meeting, Hon Manfred Tawiah engaged with the youth of Agbesia to discuss pressing concerns, including education, employment, community labor, John Dramani Mahama’s agribusiness initiatives, and other policies beneficial to the youth. Hon Manfred Tawiah emphasized the importance of addressing sanitation issues. He urged the youth to refrain from drug abuse, which can have devastating consequences.

The community, particularly farmers, expressed their need for agricultural fertilizers and other inputs to enhance food production. In response, Hon Manfred Tawiah pledged to complete outstanding legacy projects in the community, including the renovation of a building at FALAMS compound to provide accommodation for teachers who currently commute long distances.

The chiefs and community members appealed to Hon Manfred Tawiah to intensive lobby GIFEC to improve the community’s telecommunication network, which is currently inadequate.

Resolving this issue would greatly benefit the community, particularly in terms of enhancing teaching and learning in schools. Notably, Leklebi Fiafe has the poorest communication network in my electoral area. On behalf of the Leklebi Agbesia community, I extend my gratitude to Hon Manfred Tawiah for his community engagement efforts and invite him to replicate this initiative in Leklebi Fiafe and Wobey, which are also within my electoral area.

I pledge my support to ensure the success of his initiatives and John Dramani Mahama’s policies, which aim to revitalize Ghana’s development.

Hon Joseph Gakpo
Assembly Member of Leklebi Agbesia Fiafe Electoral Area.
