Jean-Pierre Adams
Former France and PSG Defender Jean-Pierre Adams has died at the age of 73, almost 40 years after falling into coma following a medical error.
According to the Guardian, Adams was undertaking a coaching course in Dijon when he put the course on hold in order to attend to a recurring knee problem.
Adams was 34 years when he was administered a near fatal dose of anaesthetic in 1982 prior to the knee operation at Lyon Hospital.
Since the incident happened in 1982, he has been cared for by his wife, Bernadette.
Adams was born in Dakar-Senegal and played for the French National Team in the 1970’s, forming a partnership with Marius Tresor known as ‘the Black Guard’.
Jean-Pierre Adams played 22 times for the French National team and at club level, played for PSG, Nice.
He was pronounced dead on Monday, September 6, 2021, at the Nimes Hospital.
