Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has pleaded with fans of the club to hold on to their faith and expect a turnaround as the season progresses.
The Porcupine Warriors have seen a poor run of results in their last six games, grabbing one win, two draws, and three defeats.
Their inconsistency is a contributing factor to the team’s defeat to Aduana Stars to exit the MTN FA Cup, with Karim Zito always resigning as the head coach.
However, despite the team currently trailing leaders Medeama SC by eight points, Amoah stressed the importance of unity and belief in turning the club’s fortunes around.
“It’s not over. Our supporters should continue to believe in us and stand by us through both the tough times and the good times. I truly believe that everything is going to be alright,” he told Akoma FM.
Currently fifth in the standings with 35 points, Amoah insists the team is capable of mounting a serious challenge if backed by a united front.
“They shouldn’t give up on us, and they should come out in their numbers to support the team,” he added. “Honestly, without them, it feels like we aren’t playing for anyone,” he added.
As the club prepares for a crucial Super Clash against Hearts of Oak on February 15, Amoah’s words serve as both a reassurance and a challenge to his teammates to perform and to the fans to keep faith when it matters most.
Following the absence of Zito, Prince Owusu will temporarily take charge of the technical team, assisted by Mohammed Hamza Obeng, ahead of the Super Clash.
