Former Accra Great Olympics and Dreams FC forward, Abel Manomey, says he is ready to put pen to paper should any club avail themselves of his services.

According to him, it is too early to bid farewell to football, citing that he still has more years to play active and competitive football.

He stressed that, though he has ventured into academia, he is a free agent ready to hit the ground running, as he practices regularly with True Democracy Football Club,a division one club based in Tema.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with LinusNartey TV on YouTube, the 2020 GUSA Games Top Scorer underscored that most clubs are not aware he is unattached but are aware of his new job as lecturer.

“I’m a free agent; maybe most clubs don’t know I’m free. I train with True Democracy FC, and it’s been nice. They are more than a family. Probably many clubs are not aware. But I’m still available while I’m doing my lecturing job. I’m still not done with football. At the age of 34 I still have more years to play, so any club that wants to sign me this time, I’m ready to play,” he stated.

He was the top scorer of the GUSA 2020 games hosted by the University of Ghana, Legon, after scoring 10 goals in 10 matches.

He holds the all-time top scorer record in the Ghana University Sports Association Games (GUSA) with 39 goals from 35 games in six tournaments.

Currently, Abel has taken up a lecturing position at the University of Ghana, School of Physical Education and Sports Studies.
