Nana Addo, Mahama
The 2024 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has chided president Nana Akufo Addo on his comment over the position of he Mahama on the Free Senior High School education policy.
Speaking to supporters of the NDC in the Ningo Prampram Constituency during his Greater Accra tour, Mahama tagged the president as a sleeping president.
This reaction comes in response to Akufo Addo’s suggestion that Mahama’s stance on the free senior high school policy is shaky, hence he cannot be trusted to govern the country again.
President Nana Addo made these remarks during his thank you tour in the Northern region where he called on voters to cast their votes for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he is a trustworthy person and will continue the Free SHS policy.
Former president Mahama reiterated that his position on Free SHS has always been clear, but President Akufo Addo may have been sleeping and not paying attention to policies he will run and his commitment to same.
Mahama said,”When you stop sleeping, you’ll hear clearly my position on Free SHS. He is not in this country, or he has been sleeping because I have made it clear that there are implementational problems with the Free SHS. One there is no dedicated funding. Two, parents are also not happy with the double track system. Three, the quality of food the children are being given is not good, and so I have said that the NDC is going to come and fix these three things.”
