I speak truth, not party lines – A Plus sends message to politicians

Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has shared deep insights into his political journey, ambitions, and values in a revealing interview on Channel One TV.

He explained that his entry into politics was to prove his capability, not to seek approval or follow convention.

“I entered politics to show that if I want to, I can be here,” he stated. He reflected on his early support for President Akufo-Addo and the NPP but noted that his refusal to stay silent led to tensions. “They gave me a role, but when they saw I wouldn’t keep quiet, they backed off.”

Despite parting ways, A Plus stressed he holds no grudges. “I don’t inherit enemies. I still believe in the leadership of the NPP and have strong relationships within the party,” he said.

Looking ahead, he hinted at bigger ambitions, saying he could even become president someday. However, he ruled out ever accepting a ministerial position. “I’ll never be a minister. I want to live freely and be myself. That position comes with too many constraints,” he explained.

A Plus’s comments underline his desire for authenticity in leadership and his commitment to remaining independent in both thought and action.
