Popular Ghanaian songstress and entrepreneur Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly called Mzbel, says she prefers to be in a relationship rather than getting married.
At 46, Mzbel says though she was once married at age 36, she believes not every living soul should make it a must to marry.
According to her, she prefers to be alone because her attitude and character will be a turn-off for men who want her hand in marriage.
Speaking to Nana Romeo on UTV, the ‘Abi 16 Years’ hitmaker said
“At 46, nope, I won’t marry again. I had one at age 36, but I lost interest. It’s not my thing. For me, I feel not everyone should get married, just like the way not everyone can become a doctor. But the society insists you must marry when you are a certain age. For me, I don’t like Mary because of my character. I’m an organized freak, prim and proper. I want to see my things well organized and maintained. ”.
She added that being a spiritual woman, people will make issues out of her actions, but being in a relationship, these things can be tolerated because there is no commitment.
“I don’t want to marry, so when a man wants to brush his teeth, then he misuses the toothpaste and disburses his things around. I just can’t! Sometimes you just want to be alone. I’m a spiritual woman, and sometimes I want to have only a cloth wrapped around me, but if I’m married, people will make issues out of these things. For a relationship, I’m in, but not for marriage because I don’t think it’s for me and I don’t want it,” she added.
Mzbel is the CEO of Mzbel Music, Bel Group, Bel Eye Media, and others.
She is a global ambassador for people with disabilities.
