The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has donated essential sanitation tools to what he described us “the remarkable BuzStopBoys“.
He made the donation during the relaunch of the National Sanitation Day yesterday, Saturday, September 6, 2025 in Accra.
The items donated by the Presidents included “200 wheelbarrows, 300 shovels, 300 brooms, 300 pairs of hand gloves, and a supply of standing brushes.”
In a Facebook post, President Mahama said, “This contribution aims to bolster their [BuzStopBoys] commendable efforts in championing sanitation initiatives across the country. Their dedication to fostering a cleaner environment must be exemplified.”
He added that “The National Sanitation Day is more than just an event; it is a renewed call to action for every Ghanaian to take ownership of our environment. Let us all commit to maintaining clean communities, not just on designated days, but every day.”
“Let’s build on this momentum! I urge all Ghanaians to join hands and actively participate in keeping our surroundings clean.”
The BuzStopBoys is a voluntary group of young Ghanaians that embark on cleaning the environment.
The National Sanitation Day is set for Every first Saturday of the month, with the various MMDAs across Ghana tasked to unite for Day with is a vital initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, public health, and civic responsibility
The National Sanitation Day was first launched in 2014 during the former administration of President John Mahama.
