I am still the National Youth Organizer of the NDC – George Opare-Addo

Mr. George Opare-Addo, the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, has clarified his position within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) amid speculation about his resignation.

Speaking on Channel One’s Face to Face with Umaru Sanda, Opare-Addo emphasized that he has not resigned as the NDC’s National Youth Organizer. He confirmed that he still holds the post, though he intends to step down after the party’s next Congress.

He reassured party members that other officials, including his deputies, continue to serve in their roles. Opare-Addo explained that, while some party members have moved into government positions, many will not contest again at the next Congress, creating space for new leadership.

Addressing concerns about the impact of party officials holding government roles, Opare-Addo expressed confidence in the NDC’s ability to find capable replacements, noting that the party has a wealth of skilled individuals ready to take on leadership roles.

Despite his ministerial duties, Opare-Addo stressed that his commitment to the NDC remains strong. He explained his daily routine, balancing his responsibilities as both National Youth Organizer and Minister, noting that his work is driven by his dedication to empowering young people across Ghana.
