Three days ago, the Leadership of the Hohoe Constituency of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) had its first-ever Constituency conference, which was not engineered by an internal election.
In a statement, the MP Worlanyo Tsekpo, explained that the Conference seeks to review the party’s 2025 programs and account for their stewardship to our party executives, as well as plans for 2026.
The Conference, which was led by the MP Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Prosper Kumi, and Constituency Chairman, Mr. Newton Darkey brought together Branch, Ward, and Constituency executives.
Between November and December this year, the MP and the Municipal Assembly also launched some initiatives, including the Agric for All Programme and the Municipal Sanitation Programme.
Education was not left out in the MP and MCE’s development agenda. They also revived the Teachers Award programme and, in October 2025, launched a full educational project that includes:
1. An Education Endowment Fund to support brilliant but needy students
2. SMART Lab Project
3. Internet for All initiative
4. Teachers’ Awards and Motivation programs
5. Improved school infrastructure
6. Teachers’ Housing Project, and more
The educational project has so far benefited over 200 students, including PhD and medical students from three scholarship schemes in less than a year.
