The Chiefs, Queens and Elders of Ho Bankoe in the Asogli State have issued a formal statement disassociating themselves from Mr. Frederick Akordor, declaring that he has no authority to represent or speak on behalf of Ho Bankoe, Asogli State, or any recognised traditional institution.

In a press release dated January 28, 2026, the traditional authorities stated that Mr. Akordor acts solely in his personal capacity and does not hold any mandate under customary law. They explained that his recent publications and communications, circulated through correspondence, digital platforms and social media, contain misrepresentations and distortions of fact relating to Ho Bankoe, Asogli State and the Ho Traditional Area.

The statement further clarified that Mr. Akordor was lawfully and customarily destooled as the Afetorfia Mankrado of Ho Bankoe following established traditional procedures and due process. According to the chiefs and elders, findings of persistent insubordination, disregard for constituted traditional authority, and conduct prejudicial to peace and unity within Ho Bankoe and the Asogli State informed the decision.

“As a result of his destoolment, Mr. Akordor ceased to hold any office, authority, or representational capacity within Ho Bankoe, Asogli State, or the Ho Traditional Area,” the statement noted.

The traditional leadership cautioned the general public, media organisations, institutions and stakeholders to disregard any communication originating from or associated with Mr. Akordor that purports to involve Ho Bankoe or any recognised traditional authority. They urged the public to rely solely on verified information issued by legitimate traditional leaders.

The chiefs, queens and elders also reaffirmed their full confidence in the Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, highlighting his contributions to cultural development, education, scholarship initiatives and community advancement.

The statement, which was jointly signed by several divisional chiefs, queen mothers, elders, linguists and clan heads of Ho Bankoe, was copied to the Volta Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive, the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, security agencies, traditional councils and media houses.

The traditional authorities said the release was issued in the interest of clarity, peace and the preservation of lawful customary governance.IMG 20260128 WA0086 IMG 20260128 WA0087 IMG 20260128 WA0083 IMG 20260128 WA0085 IMG 20260128 WA0084
