Asante Kotoko defender Patrick Asiedu has openly criticized the playing style of Hearts of Oak, boldly tagging the Phobians as a club that fancies and plays “Zongo football”.

According to him, Hearts of Oak lack flair and finesse as compared to Asante Kotoko.
“They don’t play attractive football, they’re known for playing what many call Zongo Football,” he said on Oyerepa FM.
The remark reflects his view that the Phobians prioritize a direct, physical style over possession and attacking creativity.
The term “Zongo Football” is commonly used by fans to describe a crunchy, results-focused approach that emphasizes organization and resilience rather than attractiveness.
The two giants will face off on match day 22 of the Ghana Premier League.
The game is scheduled for Sunday, February 15, and the kickoff is at 5:00 pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The Super Clash, one of Ghana football’s most fiercely contested rivalries.
