Hearts of Oak lost to Legon Cities because of dumsor – Aboubakar Ouattara

Aboubakar Ouattara, head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak has revealed that their defeat to Legon Cities over the weekend was caused by power outage (Dumsor), the night before their game.

Hearts of Oak lost 2-0 to Legon Cities on matchday 27 of the Ghana Premier League in Dawu. The defeat came courtesy Albert Yeboah’s brace in the second half.

Following the defeat, Ouattara was confronted by fans over the team’s poor run in their last five games. In a response, the coach said Hearts of Oak are troubled by off field issues resulting in their recent poor form. Hearts of Oak lost 4 and won only one of their last 5 matches.

“Yesterday at the hotel, we did not have electricity or water,” Outtara explained, adding “These are the materials I have. I do not have any players anywhere else so I have to work with them. So be patient and hear me out,” he said.

The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak on the 11th position on the league table. They will drop further if the teams below them; Legon Cities, Great Olympics and Dreams FC win their outstanding matches.
