Headteacher and staff of Gomoa Nsuaem D/A Basic School distribute free exercise books to students

The headteacher of Gomoa Nsuaem, Mr. Harrison Kwame Wolanyo Aglago, and the school staff have distributed free exercise books to students as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning in the area.

Mr. Aglago stated that distribution is very important in this economic crisis because some children come to school without books to do their exercise, which contributes to low student performance in their studies, which is detrimental to the advancement of education in the area.

He emphasized that education is critical to changing society, so his top priority is to ensure that the school’s students have a better future.

He is disheartened whenever he sees most of his students sitting idle in class due to a lack of books when class exercise is in session, according to him.

He added that the exercise book plays a very pivotal role when it comes to teaching and learning. This is because when a teacher gives a class work, assignment, or exercise, the child needs an exercise book to write in; thus, this has relieved the burden on parents for the children to come to school and study without hindrance.

The exercise books were distributed from Bs1 through to Junior High School 3, with each student receiving 8 exercise books.

He reiterated that all students, regardless of their life circumstances, deserve a good and quality education that will propel them to reach high standards of performance in their studies.

One of the surest ways to unlock that potential in students is to ensure that he or she is embraced by a culture of high expectations and learns from great teachers in a great school run by great teachers and staff,” he stressed.

He heaped praise on friends, family, and philanthropists who came to extend their benevolence to the school to distribute the exercise books to the students.

He also used the opportunity to thank many kind-hearted individuals, like Charity Amenu, Mr. Madison Adenusa, who is the NDC Parliamentary Aspirant for Gomoa Central, and Mr. Munifi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Voltic Cool, for their humanitarian services.

He called on individuals, cooperative bodies, and philanthropists within the community to also extend their assistance in helping the students with learning materials to aid the teaching and learning in school.
