The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised prospective Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims to temporarily suspend their travel arrangements until further notice.
A statement issued by the Ministry in Accra urged all persons intending to travel for this year’s Hajj to remain calm and await official communication from the appropriate authorities before proceeding with flight bookings and other related preparations.
The Ministry explained that the directive had become necessary to ensure proper coordination with relevant stakeholders and to avoid any inconvenience that may arise from unforeseen circumstances.
It assured the public that government, in collaboration with the Ghana Hajj Board and Saudi authorities, was working diligently to address all outstanding matters concerning the pilgrimage.
The Ministry further encouraged pilgrims to rely solely on information from official sources and disregard unverified reports circulating on social media.
It reaffirmed government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare and interests of all Ghanaian pilgrims and promised to provide timely updates as discussions progress.
