Haaland scores 300th goal as Man City crush Juventus 5–2

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland marked a major career milestone as Manchester City thrashed Juventus 5–2 in Orlando to finish top of Group G at the FIFA Club World Cup.

City dominated from the outset and opened the scoring early through Jeremy Doku, who curled in a fine shot after a clever setup by summer signing Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Juventus briefly drew level just two minutes later when a rare mistake from City goalkeeper Ederson gifted Teun Koopmeiners a clear shot on goal. However, the Premier League champions quickly regained control.

City restored their lead before halftime, courtesy of a Pierre Kalulu own goal, redirecting a low cross into his own net to give Pep Guardiola’s side a 2–1 advantage at the break.

The second half saw City turn on the style. Substitute Haaland made an immediate impact, scoring his 300th career goal with a clinical finish. Phil Foden added another before Savinho sealed the rout with a stunning long-range effort.

Despite a late consolation goal from Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, the Italian side were thoroughly outclassed and finished second in the group.

Manchester City will face the runner-up of Group H in the next round, while Juventus must take on the winner of that group. On current form, City look like strong contenders to lift the trophy.
