Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, said the board’s inauguration comes at a critical time as Ghana intensified efforts to diversify its economy through tourism and heritage development.

She emphasised the GTDC’s pivotal role in implementing the national tourism strategy and urged the board to drive innovation, attract investment, and champion sustainable tourism initiatives.

“Your role as board members is one that comes with a lot of challenges. This is because the survival, or otherwise, of the institution depends on the leadership you provide,” Madam Gomashie stated.

She called on members to uphold integrity, diligence, and professionalism, while ensuring effective resource management, good governance, and stakeholder collaboration.
