The newly sworn-in Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has outlined security and sanitation as her top priorities in ensuring the development of the country’s capital city.
In the Minister’s first meeting with the management and staff of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council on Monday, February 3, 2025, she revealed there will be a reintroduction of the Regional Sanitation Day.
She stated that an awards scheme will be set up for the cleanest city to encourage people to improve sanitation in Accra.
She said, “I will closely work with traditional authorities, religious organizations, and other stakeholders to deepen decentralization and enhance participatory governance.”
She stated that she will work on “Strengthening of the Zonal and the area councils will continue to monitor and provide technical backstopping to MMDAs as mandated by the Local Governance Act 936”
