Government Targets $30 Million Fundraising Drive for Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup Campaign

Government has announced plans to raise $30 million to support the Black Stars in their campaign towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The initiative is aimed at mobilising financial resources to adequately prepare the national team for qualifiers and the tournament, should they secure qualification.
Officials indicated that the fundraising drive would involve partnerships with the private sector, corporate institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure sustainable financing for the team.
The move forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the performance of the Black Stars and enhance Ghana’s competitiveness on the global football stage.
Government reaffirmed its commitment to providing the necessary logistical, technical, and financial support to the team as it seeks to qualify for the global tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to feature an expanded format, increasing opportunities for participating countries, including those from Africa.
